This training was facilitated by Barnardos and provided health professionals with information and research on the benefits of early attachment. This one day training event takes the best available evidence from infant mental health and applies the learning to achieving healthy emotional development with older children and young people. The training uses the evidence based ‘Five to Thrive’ approach for building and maintaining healthy brain development and applies this to help strengthen brain connections at all ages. ‘Why people need people’ is aimed at practitioners working with Primary and Post Primary aged children and young people. The training looked at the science behind how children’s brains develop and the importance of strong attachments and relationships to build resilience.
