EDGES (Edge of care intervention service) will provide the early intervention service for young people, primarily between the ages of 13 – 17, who are on the edge of care, custody and/or education. The service will operate in the Enniskillen and Newtownabbey areas. Ronan McGinley, Service Manager at Start360, said, ‘We are really pleased to start working on the EDGES service in partnership with the Health and Social Care Board. Early intervention is vital in the lives of the young people we will be working with – our specialist team of staff will work with both the young people and their families to prevent them from entering the care system, entering custody, becoming homeless or leaving education.
