Family information and fun day held in Gilford – Banbridge LPG

Gilford Family Fun and Information Day (12)

Gilford family fun and information day was held on Friday the 16th November at 2pm to 6pm, this successful information event was organised in partnership with Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership, Banbridge District Council, Police and Community Safety Partnership, Closing the Gap and the Southern Health and Social Care Trust. The event attracted over 100 local families from the Gilford area who attended and received information from the 25 different agencies/organisations who were exhibiting. Some of the examples of exhibitors were Road Safety, Delta Parenting, Family Support Database, SELB Youth Service, Employers for Childcare, Volunteer Now, Police and Community Safety Partnership, People First, Cancer Focus-Man Alive, Careers Service, Dental Hygiene and Childcare Maintenance etc.

This event proved to be an excellent opportunity for networking amongst service providers across the Southern Trust Area.
The idea behind the information event was to engage with families in the Gilford area and to give them information on services that they may not know exist, improve health outcomes, have fun with their families, encourage young people to sign up to volunteering opportunities and gain a better understanding of family support services available to them. Feedback received from the event was very positive; the younger children enjoyed the bouncy castle, blow up slide, face painting and balloon modelling, whilst the older children enjoyed the hip hop dance class and the cage football.
Thank you to the following business in the local area who provided raffle prizes, Willow Beauty Therapy , Pot Belly Restaurant , Gilford Butchers, Day Today ,Gilford CPLC £50, Bannville House Hotel- Sunday Lunch, Iveagh Cinema and Banbridge Leisure Centre.
