Sharing Good Practice: Sure Start Developmental Programme for 2-3 year olds Exhibition

The Childcare Partnerships in Northern Ireland supported and administered by the Health and Social Care Board, hosted an event, Development of Good Practice in the Sure Start Developmental Programme for 2-3 year olds at the Seamus Heaney Home Place Centre in Bellaghy this month.

The event was organised to highlight the journey of the successful Sure Start Programme which is currently available to 1,700 children in Northern Ireland through 145 Sure Start Developmental Programmes which are specifically designed for 2-3 year olds.

Fionnuala McAndrew, Director of Social Care and Children, Health & Social Care Board, who spoke from the event said; “We must celebrate the Early Years practice and environments developed across Northern Ireland. This early intervention approach in Sure Start addresses the holistic needs of the child and parents – to provide the best outcomes for children”.
