The Rights of Homeless Young People – Training Seminar 20 April 2016

This Seminar aims to support all those advocating for the accommodation rights of young people, by providing legal analysis of statutory duties to provide accommodation and leaving and aftercare supports for homeless young people.  This will include guidance on the implications of the Regional Good Practice Guidance on meeting accommodation and support needs of 16 and 17 year olds (revised 2014) as well as an update on recent, relevant case law.

Improving pathways and interventions for homeless young people in Northern Ireland

The Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE), Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) and Supporting People (SP) recently co-hosted a regional seminar on youth homelessness.
The seminar facilitators, Anna Whalen and Andy Gale, two leading specialist advisors on homelessness, housing and vulnerable young people shared their extensive experience from across Local Authorities in England and Wales.
The event drew attention to early identification of predictive factors leading to young people becoming homeless.
