The Family Support NI website has had widespread success since it was launched. Visits to the website have shown a steady increase of over 205% between the launch in June 2011 and the end of April 2013. There have been nearly half a million visits to the site to date.
The website at www.familysupportni.gov.uk provides information on Family Support services including child minding, daycare, disability, domestic abuse, drug/alcohol misuse, mental health, social care for children, leisure, support for young offenders and others.
Families and young people can find the service they need and details on how to access it whether the service is provided by a statutory, private, community or voluntary organization. The website is also used by frontline staff to enable them to signpost families and young people to appropriate services. Details of more than 6000 organisations are already available on the website. Regular quality assurance ensures that existing information is up to date and the team are constantly working to add to the family support information available.
