On Wednesday 29th June around 65 people gathered at Girdwood Community Hub for the launch of the SCIE Review on Family Support Hubs and the Family Support Book. Chaired by Maurice Leeson presentations by Sean Holland, Shirley Ewart- Boyle, Helen Dunn and John Pinkerton with Pat Dolan were very well received. The Review concluded “the Hubs are an intrinsic part of the continuum of services for families, and it would be difficult to imagine the landscape of children’s services without the Family Support Hubs”. The morning was rounded off by Jacinta Linden from the Newry Hub using a football analogy about the Family Support Hubs and the Icelandic Team (the mouse that roared) which seemed to resonate with everyone present .The report and the book can be accessed from the following links:
