Raising Awareness of Blind Cord Safety in Northern Ireland

make-it-safe-campaign-december-2017Local Government Councils are working in partnership with the Public Health Agency this month to raise awareness of blind cord safety in the home. The Make It Safe Campaign was launched across the UK this week and aims to ensure that parents and carers have the correct information to make the right, safe choice in window blinds for their homes. Internal window blind cords and chains can pose a risk to babies, small children and vulnerable people who could injure or even strangle themselves on looped operating cords and chains. The Make It Safe campaign highlights a number of practical and simple precautions for families who have blinds fitted in their homes to help reduce the risk to babies and small children.
