Children’s Voices, Children’s Places Event

This event will launch:

• A new Key Stage 2 teaching resource Healthy Places, Healthy Children which focuses on children and place
• A Child Friendly Places Action Plan for Belfast

Keynote Speaker:
Lamine Mahdjoubi, Professor of the Built Environment,
University of the West of England, Bristol

Presentations by primary school children
Eleven primary schools from across Belfast, who participated in piloting the new teaching resource will present concrete child friendly proposals for their local areas.

Visiting children from a primary school in Ilioupolis, Athens will also present their experiences of piloting the resource and share details about living in their local area.

Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People
Koulla Yiasouma, Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People will present a Commissioner’s perspective in relation to children, place and planning.
