Young People Get Involved in the ‘Sound as a Pound’ Campaign in the West

During the month of September young people from across three Strength2Strength programmes in the Western Health and Social Care Trust area participated in the Foyle Foodbank ‘Sound as a Pound’ campaign as part of their citizenship programme. Young people participating in the campaign spent some time exploring local supermarkets to find out how much non-perishable food costs. Following reflection, the young people as a group made a decision on the food items that would be best value for money for families and donated a range of items to the Foyle Foodbank. The Foyle Foodbank were delighted with the donation from the young people and were equally impressed that they had forgone a fun activity so they could donate to the Sound as a Pound Campaign.
