With the half-term breaking coming up, the next issue of ‘FYI’ will be circulated in three weeks time, on Thursday 7th November. (We’ll send out a reminder closer to the time!).

In the meantime, next Monday, 21st October, sees the start of Parenting Week. We have included, in this edition, a wide range of support and opportunities for parents, and encourage as many people to avail of these resources as possible.

Have a listen to the fantastic Podcast on Page 34 on Anxiety-Based School Avoidance by Parentline NI, where they share some of the stories and experiences from parents and shine a light on this pertinent issue.

Lots of opportunities in this edition for training and raising awareness of a number of issues.  We have also just heard of a new funding programme from The National Lottery for its ‘Strengthening Communities’ programme – See Page 19.

As always, keep sharing ‘FYI’ with your families and colleagues and feel free to send us any flyers or information to share with over 850 contacts who receive this.

As you may have noticed, we have tweaked the design of ‘FYI’ to keep it user-friendly, including a new logo. Hope you like it!

We have included the reports for our Family Support Hubs, both regionally and in the Southern Area. These are on page 3 and give a very detailed breakdown of the nature of referrals to the hub over the past year.

Pages 27 to 29 introduce the Emotional Wellbeing Teams in Schools if you have not yet heard of them. They have great resources now to help support young people, parents/carers and teaching staff on the emotional wellbeing of young people.

Hope you find this edition useful!

So, Summer has come and gone, in the blink of an eye! Back to school and we hope we have been able to reflect just some of the support and opportunities available for children, young people and their parents/carers.

Our Locality Planning Groups have resumed meeting this morning (5th September) in Armagh and will operate at full speed throughout the rest of the year. We welcome anyone working or volunteering to improve outcomes for children & young people and we’ll be delighted to tell you more, if you are interested.  Dates for the next meetings are on the second last page, as always.

 See you later in September!

Feel Good Armagh Community Networking Event 2024

On Saturday 15th June 2024, the Feel Good Armagh Community Networking Event was held on The Mall in Armagh.

This free event was organised to help all ages of the communities in Armagh to find out what support and opportunities were available on their doorstep.

Over 50 services and organisations held information stands to inform the public (and each other) of what they provide, and activities were held for children along with historical walking tours of The Mall and music and food were provided too!

Download the Feel Good Armagh Community Networking Event Scorecard HERE, to find out more about what we did, how well we did it and what changed as a result.
