Monday 19th October sees the start of Parenting Week 2026 and so, in this edition, we have included a wide range of support and opportunities for parents & carers and would encourage as many people to avail of these resources as possible – Find out more about this year’s Parenting Week theme, Making Connections, starting on Page 22.

 As always, please keep spreading the word about all the great opportunities included in ‘FYI’ and feel free to send us any flyers or information to share with the 750+ contacts who regularly receive this newsletter.

Solihull Approach Two Day Early Years Foundation Programme Training

The Solihull Approach is an early intervention model that focuses on the importance of infant brain development and its relevance to infant mental health and child development.

The approach provides practitioners with:

  • A robust understanding based on neuroscience of the importance of the first three years and how to support infants/children to have the best start in life.
  • A theoretical framework for practitioners to reframe how to approach their work with children and families.

Summer has come and gone in the blink of an eye! Back to school and we hope we have been able to reflect the wide range of supports and opportunities available across the Southern Trust Area for children, young people and their families in this edition.

Our Locality Planning Groups have resumed meeting this morning in Armagh and will operate at full speed throughout the rest of the year. We welcome anyone working or volunteering to improve outcomes for children, young people & families and you will find our 2026 LPG Meetings Calendar on the page 3. We’ll be delighted to tell you more, if you are interested.
