Lots of opportunities in this edition for training and raising awareness of a number of issues.  We have also just heard of a new funding programme from The National Lottery for its ‘Strengthening Communities’ programme – See Page 19.

As you may have noticed, we have tweaked the design of ‘FYI’ to keep it user-friendly, including a new logo. Hope you like it!

We have included the reports for our Family Support Hubs, both regionally and in the Southern Area. These are on page 3 and give a very detailed breakdown of the nature of referrals to the hub over the past year.

Pages 27 to 29 introduce the Emotional Wellbeing Teams in Schools if you have not yet heard of them. They have great resources now to help support young people, parents/carers and teaching staff on the emotional wellbeing of young people.

Hello and welcome to the August edition of the Family Support Hub Newsletter. There are lots of changes and transitions going on with kids returning to school and the autumn feeling like it’s already upon us.  The special focus in this edition is Back to School with lots of top tips and advice for preparing children and parents.

It is also packed full of information for parents/carers, early years, children & young people with a disability,  mental health and wellbeing advice,  Helplines and much more – make sure you download your copy now!

Welcome to Issue 130 of our fortnightly newsletter, ‘FYI’ (For Your Information).

It’s been longer than usual since our last edition and we have a lot of new opportunities, events, activities and support in this issue.  As always, have a look and pass on to whoever you think may avail of anything in here.

Southern Area FYI Feedback Survey Report Card

The 2024 FYI Scorecard Report is part of the Southern Area Locality Planning Team’s ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our fortnightly e-bulletin, ‘FYI’.

It follows on from the same evaluation completed in June 2022 which can be accessed HERE.

‘FYI’ was introduced in January 2019 as an innovative new way of sharing information on the work of services and organisations aiming to improve outcomes for children, young people and families in the Southern Area.

With the aim of strengthening contacts, participation, engagements and connections in the area, Southern Area LPG member organisations, as well as the wider community, are invited to submit flyers, posters and announcements promoting relevant events, opportunities, programmes and initiatives. This information is collated and shared via a one-stop-shop style newsletter… ‘FYI’ (For Your Information).

This fortnightly e-bulletin is circulated on alternate Thursday afternoons to all LPG members and contacts on our specific ‘FYI’ list, to the community, voluntary and statutory sectors as well as those who have signed up to receive ‘FYI’ (parents and caregivers). It is also widely promoted across various CYPSP and LPG member social media channels and e-mail circulars.
