Regional Wheelchair Skills Summer Programme

The Regional Occupational Therapy Wheelchair Training Programme for Northern Ireland in partnership with Go – Kids – Go, The Mae Murray Foundation and Disability Sport NI will be offering free Wheelchair skills, sports and leisure opportunities in July & August 2019.

These opportunities are open to children under 18 years old who use either a self – propelling or powered wheelchair.

Kids Disability Summer Scheme – Bangor

The Kid’s Disability Summer Scheme is now live and ready to book.

Activities will include – Wheelchair skills, Kurling, Boccia and other fun games!

Dates:
The two sessions will take place on Tuesday 23rd July & Wednesday 24th July.

Time: 10am -12noon

Cost:
2 Days – £14
1 Day – £7

Eurochild Conference 2018

Two young people, along with their Team Leader from Barnardo’s Disabled Children and Young People’s Participation Project will be delivering a workshop at the next Eurochild Conference ‘‘Building a better Europe with children: All aboard!’’ 29-31 October, Opatija, Croatia.   

The Eurochild Conference in Opatija will be hosted by Society “Our Children” Opatija, and will bring positive examples of how public decision-makers at local, national and European levels are respecting the right of children to participate in decisions affecting them.

The Eurochild conference will bring together practitioners, researchers, civil society actors, policy and decision makers along with children and young people themselves to contribute to improving children’s participation in public decision making.  For more information download attached Conference background paper below.
