ASD and Supporting your Child with the War in Ukraine

Some children and young people with ASD are struggling to understand the current situation in Ukraine. Talking about war to children can be very difficult.

The Child and Adolescent Autism Service in Belfast Trust has produced this guide to support you in talking to your child… we hope you find it helpful.

Southern Area FYI Newsletter – Issue 78

Welcome to the 78th edition of our information bulletin, ‘FYI’ (For Your Information).

Issue 78 – 10 March 2022

(Note: FYI will download directly to your device.  Look out for the pop up box and click on open file when it appears)

As ‘FYI’ moves towards its 80th issue next month, we would like to get your feedback on our fortnightly newsletter and how it is making an impact on the ground. Please see Page 3 for further details on this short survey and thanks (in advance) for participating. This will help us make any necessary improvements or tell us that what we are doing is along the right lines!

To make it easier for reference, we include the soonest events and activities first in ‘FYI’, so please note the dates on included flyers, as sometimes they are coming up in the very near future.

Keep submitting your information… Spring time is fast approaching!!

Deferral for September 2022

Deferral of Pre-School or Primary school places

Deferral for September 2022

Parents or guardians of some children can now choose to defer school places by one year. This means that children born between 1st April and 1st July  (including both dates), or any premature child who was born before 1st April but was due to be born on or after 1st April, are eligible to defer pre-school or primary school this year if they choose.  For further information see: https://nidirect.gov.uk/articles/deferral-pre-school-or-primary-school-places
