More new opportunities in this edition to get involved with a range of activities, events and consultations, as well as our usual abundance of information!

In our next edition, we will include a survey to all Locality Planning Group members regarding the format and dates of LPG meetings next year. We are always very keen to have high attendances at these meetings which include a lot of information sharing among local services and organisations in the Southern Trust Area.  There is a great chance to network and find out what is happening in your local area. If you have not attended any of these meetings before, but are interested in finding out more, please contact Darren at darren@ci-ni.org.uk.

As always, keep your flyers coming!

Autism Support Cafés 2023-2024

We are inviting parents and carers of children of all ages, who have:

  • an autism diagnosis
  • are awaiting an assessment
  • are displaying early indicators ( suggesting their child may be Neurodiverse),

To attend our next Autism Social Café with local support groups, information stalls and short workshops.

These event are in partnership with statutory services and community and voluntary organisations who can support families on their autism journey.

Our aim is to bring together parents, carers and organisations, to provide support and information on services available. We are hoping that parents and carers will help us shape our plans for future events across the WHSCT, provide feedback, ideas and suggestions. Input from parents and carers will be extremely valuable in the co-design of our future Social Café’s.

4 week Summerhill Programme for parents

The Summerhill Foundation have collaborated with Parenting NI to provide practical support to parents in the form of a 4-week programme.   This programme will allow parents to meet and discuss family life in a safe environment. Picking up tips on how to reduce household bills and expenses, play and connect with their child, practice self-care and become more confident in handling the daily pressures they face.  By offering this programme it is our hope that families will benefit from a happier home life and children will feel more secure as they are given the support and love to enable them to reach their full potential in life.  Session themes include nutrition and healthy eating, play and reading, cost of living, fitness and wellbeing.

Parents will receive a certificate and a £20.00 gift card on completion of the full 4 weeks.

The programme is scheduled to commence next Tuesday 7th November from 6.30-8.30pm at the CKS Community Centre, Omagh.
