Southern Area FYI Newsletter issue 83

Welcome to the 83rd edition of our information bulletin, ‘FYI’ (For Your Information).

We are nearing summer time and working to produce a resource identifying summer schemes and activities in the Southern Area. All we need is for providers to send us their information and page 3 can guide you in this!

We also have the usual plethora of training, events, funding opportunities and resources for you to share with colleagues and families.

Lastly, we are starting to host our Locality Planning Groups in person over the next few months, so keep an eye on page 34 for the dates and let us know if you hope to join us.

Education Authority launches £750m Education Information Solutions (EdIS) Digital Change Programme

The Education Authority (EA) has launched the Education Information Solutions (EdIS) Programme, a digital change programme which represents a significant £750m investment that will support the learning experience for children and young people over the next 10 years.

EdIS will facilitate the transformation of learning and teaching through technology with continuous improvement at its core and will transform children and young people’s learning experience, develop skills for the future, support programmes to improve educational outcomes and facilitate professional learning for school staff.

EdIS will also deliver a rolling programme of devices for staff and pupils to support our children and young people to be the best that they can be and improve how school staff, parents, young people, stakeholders and customers access a range of important services. 20,000 state-of-the-art laptops have been distributed to teachers to date.
