Welcome to this new look newsletter for Children and Young People’s services and families across the Down and Ards & North Down Locality Planning Groups. If you wish to advertise any upcoming programmes or activities or good news stories, please see the guidance on the back page.

In this edition you will find useful information on fostering, funding opportunities, up-coming training and campaigns & events. 

FREE Online Stress Control Classes

See above flyer to promote Stress Control online which will be available in November to coincide with Stress Awareness month.

Each session is available on Youtube for viewing for 48hrs.  The course link is available at www.ni.stresscontrol.org

Session dates are;

Session One: Starts Monday 6th November at 9am and is available to view online until 8am on 9th November

Session Two: Starts Thursday 9th November at 9am and is available to view online until 8am on 13th November

Session Three: Starts Monday 13th November at 9am and is available to view online until 8am on 16th November

Session Four: Starts Thursday 16th November at 9am and is available to view online until 8am on 20th November

Session Five: Starts Monday 20th November at 9am and is available to view online until 8am on 23rd November

Session Six:  Starts Thursday 23rd November at 9am and is available to view online until 8am on 27th November at 8am

 

Incredible Years (IY) NI Regional Practice Sharing Event – 23rd November

We would be delighted if you could join us for the Annual IYNI Regional Practice Sharing Event on 23rd November online from 2-5pm.

The event includes an input from Rathore Special School who recently facilitated a programme for parents of young people attending the School.

Whether you are new to Incredible Years and just want to hear more or if you and your service are actively engaged we would love you to join us on the day.

NEW Princes Trust Programme Explore+

Are you working with young women 16-30 years old who are not sure about their next step?

Explore+ is a new programme which is directed by each young person’s individual goals. They will progress into employment, training, education or volunteering by:

  • Completing progression-related qualification units
  • Building a CV
  • Fine-tuning their interview skills
  • Exploring sector-specific skills
  • Receiving tailored 1-2-1 progression support up until they take their next step!

Our Induction session will be held in centre on Wednesday 25th October from 10am – 1pm.

Next programme starts on Monday 30th October 10am.

This will be a female only programme.

 If you have any young men interested in participating please still get in touch, there will be another programme coming soon 😊

Our Explore+ programme will be based in our Belfast Centre (Unit 8a Weavers Court, Linfield Rd, BT12 5GH) Mon, Tues, Thurs, 10am – 3pm.

As long as the young person holds on to their bus/train ticket we will reimburse them each day. Our centre is less than a 5min walk from Great Victoria Street bus/train station.
