As we celebrate Volunteers’ Week, the members of the Newry & Mourne and South Armagh Locality Planning Groups would like to recognise and thank the many volunteers who give their time, skills and energy to support children, young people and families across our communities.

At our Annual Joint Locality Planning Group Meeting this week, members reflected on the invaluable contribution volunteers make. Their dedication, commitment and compassion helps strengthen services, build community connections and improve outcomes for children, young people and families every day.

We greatly appreciate the positive difference volunteers make and are proud to acknowledge their efforts during Volunteers’ Week 2026 and throughout the year.

Thank you to all volunteers for the important role you play in making our communities stronger!

This programme represents an important opportunity to engage directly with people across Northern Ireland in shaping a shared approach to health and wellbeing. At its core is a commitment to listening – to understanding what helps people stay well, what they need from services, and how we can all work together to support healthier lives in our communities.
