This is the first of 3 special editions to promote upcoming summer activities for children and young people in the Southern Area. You will see a call for submissions on Page 4 on what to submit and we are very keen to also take ides for no / very low cost activities that families can do over the summer months with their children.

We have also included our School Uniform Toolkit on Page 3: A free practical resource for use by any group who want to set up and run a recycling scheme in their area. For anyone wishing to find out more about this and learn how we can help support you, please contact us at the usual address.

Princes Trust Explore Plus Programme

Explore plus is a six month individually tailored programme of group work and one to one support delivered face to face and designed to support a young person on their journey towards a positive outcome. During the programme, young people between the ages of 16 – 24 will engage in a range of activities and sessions over a period of six months.

The sessions are carefully designed and implemented to foster personal growth and enhance interpersonal skills. Through themed sessions including Personal Development, Citizenship, Good Relations, Employability Skills and Positive Progression, young people will gain valuable insights into teambuilding, self-awareness, resilience, effective communication, emotional intelligence and how to cultivate positive relationships with others. Key features of this programme are listed below:

  • Target young people aged 16 – 24 years.
  • Address five key areas (Personal Development, Citizenship, Good Relations, Employability Skills and Positive Progression)
  • 3 – 4 days of participant contact per week (including group sessions delivered face to face and tailored 121 support with a dedicated Youth Development Lead from the Prince’s Trust)
  • Residential Opportunities

Princes Trust are hosting an information session this Friday 16th May 11am-1pm at our Princes Trust Office, 8a Weavers Court, Linfield rd, Belfast, BT12 5GH.
