Southern Area FYI Newsletter – Issue 82

Welcome to the 82nd edition of our information bulletin, ‘FYI’ (For Your Information).

Download Issue 82 – 12 May 2022

As you may be aware, this week is Mental Health Awareness Week. Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health are one of our 3 top priorities in the Southern Trust Area and we are promoting many relevant key services and resources in this edition of ‘FYI’. We know there are many more services and resources so please keep sharing them with us and we will be happy to keep these included.

One of the ways to promote good emotional wellbeing is to see children and young people engaged in positive activities in their local area, so you will see on page 3 a great way for all organisations and services to share their summer activities and schemes in the Southern Trust Area with others with whom they work.

Based on recent feedback from our ‘FYI’ Members Survey, we are now organising the Southern Trust Area section by theme which will hopefully make navigating the information contained in ‘FYI’ even more straightforward!

Download Issue 81 – 28 April 2022

You will see inside a number of training and awareness sessions listed on a wide range of issues.  They are included in chronological order and the closer to the start of ‘FYI’ the sooner the session will take place.

You will also see a great range of opportunities for parents and carers to engage with services, so, if you work with parents or carers, please share these with your families.

Once again, we have added a page to help you share ‘FYI’ on social media, so go to page 41 to follow these instructions. We have also attached a copy of ‘FYI’ to our original newsletter cover e-mail to try and make it easier for you to access.

We hope you will find useful information in ‘FYI’ – See you for the next edition!

South West Grid for Learning – New Digital Wellbeing Hub

The South West Grid for Learning (SWGfL) has published resources about the digital wellbeing of children and young people.

The guidance aims to assist professionals, parents and carers in supporting children’s wellbeing online. It looks at the impact of exposure to abuse or online harm on a child’s digital wellbeing and provides information on the role of digital technologies in relation to welfare.
