Another busy and challenging 3 years, but an excellent example of partnership work by all organisations involved!

At the end of the document is a chart of all organisations and services who attended our meetings and worked together to improve outcomes for children and young people.

Take a Healthy Selfie – Check in on Yourself

Wednesday 7th February saw the online Launch of a new resource to support young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health in the Southern Health & Social Care Trust Area. The “Take A Healthy Selfie” campaign includes 3 resources to signpost young people, parents/caregivers, school and youth work staff to support services in the Southern area. This resource was launched to coincide with Children’s Mental Health Week.

Originating from Banbridge Locality Planning Group (LPG) the aim was to work with young people to produce simple signposts to key quality-assured services and resources online. Young people from Futureproof, Crisis Café, New Bridge Integrated College and the Epicentre in the Southern area, advised on the themes, content and design for the resources.

The resources are available in electronic form (see links below) and paper copies. To order copies of this free resource, or to learn more of this campaign, contact Darren Curtis, Locality development Officer (Southern Area), at localityplanning@ci-ni.org.uk

School Uniform Recycling Toolkit 2023

Download Infographic Report

The Southern Area Locality Planning Team have produced an Infographic to report on the impact of this year’s School Uniform Recycling Toolkit. This free resource was produced to provide a user friendly, free, practical guide for schools and community groups to use in order to hold a successful school uniform recycling scheme. We provided checklists for discussions, templates to use, tips which shared good practice, and evaluation forms which we collated to produce individual reports for each initiative.

11 schools and groups used the Toolkit during 2023 and send completed feedback forms to demonstrate the effectiveness of the resource.

We had around 1,250 items donated totalling a value of over £8,000. These items were successfully recycled across the Southern area.

If your school or group is interested in finding out more about this free resource, and how to avail of our support in 2024, please contact Darren  Curtis at localityplanning@ci-ni.org.uk

The CYPSP brings together all services and organisations who aim to improve outcomes for children and young people. There are 6 Locality Planning Groups across the Southern Area (3 in ABC Council area) who meet and share information as well as identify actions based on local priorities.

To help support families, the Southern Area Locality Development Team have produced a School Uniform Recycling Toolkit which is a FREE resource for any school to use to help set up a recycling scheme.

This includes practical help, such as checklists for discussions, timeline and templates for flyers, inventories and evaluations, as well as link to other successful initiatives.

This resource can be adapted for use by community organisations too.
