  • Talk PANTS Fortnight will begin on 6th May and will run until 17th May – Learn more on Page 14

  • Finally, May is Childminding Month – Page 16 tells you more

On Page 3, you will see a call to submit any summer activities you are planning and want to promote, as we get asked every year what opportunities are available for children and young people during the summer and so now include these in ‘FYI’ to make everything easier to access.

Thanks for your submissions towards another jam-packed edition of our e-bulletin.  Please note, the Digital Discovery Online Focus Group on page 26 takes place tomorrow morning via MSN Teams, so register soon if you can. It’s a really good chance to offer practical feedback and ideas to help improve digital media coverage of mental health and emotional wellbeing support across Northern Ireland.

Other opportunities are included across the Southern Area, with sections also running at the back for area-specific events, programmes and support. Please share these with colleagues and families with whom you work.

Please take a couple of minutes to complete a very short survey on ‘FYI’ which will give you the chance to suggest ways we can improve this invaluable resource – See page 3.

You will see in this edition, two great new sources of information and support which have been raised at our Locality Planning Groups over the last couple of years. The first, on page 21, gives you links to the new Bereaved NI database on bereavement support and offers a range of essential support for all ages. The second, on page 33, is the recently-produced guidance by the PHA on vaping, providing factual information and advice to inform young people, teachers, parents/carers and others working with young people about vaping, the law and associated risks.

It’s that time again where we review and look at possible improvements for ‘FYI’ based on your feedback and ideas. Go straight to Page 3 to get involved and give us your feedback – Any ideas and queries you may have about ‘FYI’ can be made and we will act and respond to these accordingly. We want to make this resource as user-friendly and useful as possible to all.

Pages 23 to 25 also give the chance to have your say on other key areas, whether it is about emotional wellbeing and mental health services for young people, or reviewing transitions services for young people and adults with a disability. Please have your say on these.

In between, we have the usual range of information, opportunities and resources across the Southern Area for children, young people, parents/caregivers and practitioners.
