The Bushmills Locality Group began in 2000 as one of the pilot sites. The Group along with the Larne Group were supported in the initial stages by NCH NI. It focused on a much smaller area covering one ward area highlighted by the needs mapping exercise as having high social need. Bushmills is in a rural setting in Moyle District Council area on the border with Coleraine District Council.

The Den Drop-in centre was set up by the Bushmills Locality group and has been successfully running for 5 years
