Happy New Year to all and we look forward to sharing information, resources and opportunities with you in 2025.

As always, we welcome those who wish to attend our Locality Planning Group meetings, so give us a shout and we can set up a quick Zoom meeting to tell you all about them, how they operate, and how important they can be to you & your organisation/service/group.

It’s a lengthy edition to kick off the year as we have had 4 weeks between this and our last edition. Now we will revert to our fortnightly editions so keep the information coming!

In our last edition of ‘FYI’ for 2024, we would like to wish you greetings for the festive season.

It has been another challenging year for families and supporting services, but we still need to highlight and promote the work carrying on from all sectors in the Southern Area and across Northern Ireland. They continue to be more vital than ever!

Please keep sending us your information and we will do our best to keep spreading the word!!

The run up to Christmas hasn’t eased the workload of key services and organisations supporting children, young people and families. A lot of colleagues we have spoken with are under more pressure to support families at this time of the year with practical and emotional support. Please have a look through this edition of ‘FYI’ and, if there is anything that may be of use to you, your colleagues or families with whom you work, then be sure to pass on this vital information.

Our next edition, and the last issue of 2024, will be on Thursday 5th December, so please make sure any submissions for inclusion are with us by Tuesday 3rd December.

ABC Council Community Support Hubs

A number of ‘Community Support Hubs’ offering confidential help, support and advice for residents across the Council area, as well as a warm welcome and cup of tea, will open up to the public in November.

Organised by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, these Community Support Hubs will give residents an opportunity to meet with key support organisations who will give advice and guidance around matters relating to housing, food, fuel, universal credit, advice provision and more.

The Hubs will also offer information on home safety, waste management, training and employability, health and wellbeing, as well as signposting to the correct support organisations to ensure people can access the right help for their circumstances.

The Community Support Hub information is now live on the Council website and can be previewed on the link below:
