Larne and Carrickfergus Locality Planning Group

Posted on by

The Larne locality group and Carrickfergus Locality Planning Group amalgamated in November 2019 and have seen big achievements across the areas including the set up of services for children from birth to 18 years and these are invaluable to our community. Throughout the groups time we have been able to show exactly what Larne and Carrickfergus need and have worked hard to achieve the best outcomes for our children.

There are many organisations in the Larne and Carrickfergus areas doing tremendous work for children and young people and through the locality group, these organisations are able to pull together in order to join up resources and skills to tailor plans best for the local young people. It has often been voiced in our meetings the need for preventative work and better resources for our young people and we hope by pulling together we will be able to push the need for these high onto the agenda and have clear focus of where time and money is best spent. The group has spent a vast amount of time finding out what is best for the Larne and Carrickfergus areas and without the expertise of the organisations and their staff working in this approach it would have been difficult to cover such vast topics and areas with such detail
